Xc track is better for free. I thought I would like this app but for the money it’s not worth it. You can’t customize your screens and you only get two screens even with buying all the options.

Best app ever for paramotoring. Easily share your flight with other pilots. Pinpoint accuracy to check flight history. Flight replay.
Any plans for Apple Watch support? That would be very useful for basic info like altitude ground speed etc. just a thought. Awesome app.
I’ve now used this app for more than two years. I’ve logged both PG and PPG flights during that time with more than 200 hours para motor flights. Since my first review, I’ve had several exchanges with developer by email who was always very responsive. Kudos. The newly added Comments field (after flight editable) and other enhancements are greatly enhance this App’s use as useful logbook to record notes about each specific flight. The flight tracking function and ability to replay the flights seems very accurate. Found and linked to my BlueFlyvario easily.
I use this app for paragliding, Bluetooth paired with my XC Tracer Mini II GPS (instead of internal iPhone sensors which aren’t as accurate), and it works splendidly! IMO, anyone who is expecting an app to turn their phone into a solid variometer is kidding themselves, and really not using this kind of app appropriately. Doing that is relying on internal phone sensors that simply aren’t meant to be used for a variometer. However, if one pairs their phone to a REAL variometer and uses this app as the display, it is GREAT! Customizable screens make personalized layout easy. Landscape layout means it fits on my flight deck nicely. Thermal display and auto-switching to thermalling display facilitate centering on the thermal core. The Telegram group chat for extra tips and help is super handy too. I really don’t have any complaints.
The only useful thing this app does is send data to livetrack24, and it only kind of does that. There is no feedback if someone messes up their livetrack24 login credentials in the app, it just doesn’t send data. We were fighting this all week at our event after recommending people use this app. Also when uploading flights to leonardo the data (glider type etc) doesn’t work correctly. Anything else this app could be good for requires buying “extensions” so to have full functionality this is a $40 app. I would love to have a moving map with airspace, roads, towns, waypoints and maybe even other pilots I am flying with. This app might do it but no way it’s worth $40 to find out.
I looked at many different apps to use while paramotoring, and even considered the expensive (but nice) Garmin smartwatch options. FlySkyHy gives me everything I would want and more, in a highly customizable interface clearly designed by someone who flies. I particularly like the automatic flight logs and the ability to display altitude above sea level and above ground level at the same time. If I had any criticism, it's that the emphasis on function over form leaves it looking a tiny bit homemade. But I would trade an ornamental interface for an well-considered and functional one any day.
I normally use the “thermal assistant” like back up from my vario, this last weekend I forgot my instrument and one of the back up batteries on home. I was able to close a dreamed FAI triangle and make a small 30 kms task the next day. I highly recommend this app, my only suggestion is: “Is possible have a “voice assistance” with a count down for the start, like 5 minutes, 1 minute, 30 seconds, 10,9,8…. and/or can choose any sound we want for the alarms like Start open or en every waypoint? Thanks 🙏
This app perfectly replaces the need for a high end flight instrument for just a few dollars. And it makes sense, you already have the best computer/gps in your pocket. The thermal centering tool is excellent and has significantly helped me improve my thermaling abilities. I also love how it will switch between the glide screen and thermal screen automatically. The wind direction tool is also pretty accurate and has helped me determine the wind direction a number of times. Battery life is good on an iPhone 11 but I do recommend using an external battery for longer flights. You can also turn the screen off which will save battery. I even broke my vario and for a few months used the built in vario in the app. While slightly delayed compared to a dedicated vario, it still works very well. So well I’m fact, that my 3 longest flights were all accomplished using the built in vario. An awesome option as a back up vario, or for more casual pilots that don’t want to pay big money for a dedicated vario. Also, you can change the vario sound! As someone who uses a Bluetooth speaker to listen to music while flying, this is a hugely underrated feature. Finally I can pick a sound and volume level that blends perfectly with my music instead of a clashing beep beep. I could go on and on about the features, but overall the app is extremely well built, performs a variety of functions, and is incredibly stable. I was considering switching to android but I think I may have to stay in the iPhone ecosystem just for this app—it’s that good. Strongly recommend to anyone who’s a paragliding pilot with a flight deck.
App has been great so far but could definitely use additional sailplane features like an estimate of needed altitude to reach target based on glide ratio and groundspeed. The maps could be a bit more clear resolution as well. I'd like the app icon to be updated to reflect glider pilots as well :) Keep up the good work!
None of the numerical instruments give useable numbers: - lift is insanely optimistic, often showing 2m/s+ when my other instrument and senses tells me more realistically that I’m going down. - glide ratio is very pessimistic - wind speed calculations always believe I have a massive tailwind when on glide because of speed bar. Calculations are even further off if your phone is not aligned to your direction of flight. - if more than 100km from my house, height agl is equal to my altitude msl, indicating that the app is not loading ground height data. This is even when I have very good reception. As a result the only useful things the app does for me are: - show a map (with airspace and waypoints) - record my track - report my position to livetrack24. It does not feel like the full fledged instrument I would expect from a phone app.
I really hate to write a bad review especially for such a niche sport but this app is painfully unintuitive and confusing. I was not getting accurate information either compared to another similar app I’ve used. Hope the devs can work to improve the experience.
I just landed my paramotor and my flight summary said my max ground speed was 386mph... And if you try to playback a flight, none of the graphs work properly when you fast forward the timeline. In addition apple watches have been out for years now, when are we going to log heart rate to go with the flight data?
I just posted a review that said they need in app options to changes the units of measurement, but those options are included! Such a great app!
Been a Powered Paraglider for years. Bought this app on the recommendation of a fellow pilot. Mistake! Very poor documentation; expensive compared to other more powerful apps that are free; and any real useful features are $7.99 each. Look around and you’ll find much better free apps with great documentation and tutorials.
This app contains all my PPG and PPC GPS tracks since nearly all the way back to when I started flying. Hundreds of flights. It integrates seamlessly with LiveTrack24, and it’s nice to know that all my flights are automatically backed up through that integration. Love it.
I think it’s the best paragliding app out there right now for both completions and free flying especially when you pair it white a small vario like xctracer.
Awesome app, always use it!!!!!!!!!!
Great App. Been using this for couple days. Works really well and nicely picks up known Paragliding places. Adding following features can make it great and the reason I gave it 4 stars only. 1. Can’t Zoom the map. 2. Can’t edit and add a custom name of the paragliding site if it’s not automatically picked up by the App. 3. The ability to make a manual entry to the flight log. Others it’s a great app
Can’t say enough good things about it. One feature I’d like to have is the ability to name your logbook flights and save some comments on each flight. This app is worth every penny. Update: Please fix bug on flight log replay. The “distance covered” data will continuously add up if the replay is reversed and played again.
This is a great app. I was a bit surprised, however, that it does not use the barometric sensors that exist in most smart phones today. I would think that provides better accuracy.
I like this app, but it needs a little improvement. Mainly it needs to use the built in pressure sensor of smartphones. The gps altitude is always displaying inaccurately. It needs to at least use the barometer to display height above ground and not gps. Or at the very least the ability to choose either gps or pressure altitude. Pressure altitude is way more reliable. That’s what drones and virtually all aviation uses. Because it does not utilize pressure altitude, I had to buy an altimeter watch that does. But id prefer to use only one device. Especially for data and flight telemetry. If altitude is displayed wrong, then the recorded telemetry is also wrong. Sometimes by several hundred feet. The last con is the map. Tap to zoom is not intuitive. It should use pinch to zoom.
بهترین وریو متر و سنسنور حساس نسبت به بقیه نرم افزار ها داره
I bought this for just the flight track recorder, but then added the thermal centering extension. Works very well! Much easier to get the most from a thermal and stay attached in it. Very pleased with it. Wish I had a bigger phone.
Fantastic app. I use this app, in conjunction with a bluefly vario. I love it. I also use it when I fly my powered parachute and experimental amphibious fixed wing.
I’ve been using FlySkyHy as my primary vario for 2 years now. Works great with any iPhone with a barometer, and even better with any paired micro-vario, such as the cheap (but excellent) BlueFly. I use it to log all of my flights automatically, and it well and truly has the capability of replacing expensive dedicated costly varios. The new thermal centering tool in the XC pack is an incredible addition to an already fantastic app!
App worked great in the past? But is no longer reporting on my altitude. Not sure if this is due to an IOS issue or maybe Apple Watch integration, but it’s annoying. Otherwise the app has been great.
Has potential but many bugs. Maybe next year they will get this figured out.
I wish there was a tabulation feature or page. You call it a flight log and while it records all the flight data it doesn't display cumulative flight time. Please list the total flight time elapsed and total number of flights flown. You could provide further info such as flights per month and per year if you were so inclined. During flight playback you can't zoom. And I also don't know if tapping to zoom in/out is better or worse than pinching but it took me a little while to figure that out.
I use this app all the time. I have a vario but this app is so much simpler and does everything I need so use this exclusively. An addition that would be cool would be saving layouts so you could swap back and forth.
This is a full featured app: - moving maps - digital instruments - waypoints, routes - airspace The waypoint and airspace features are add-ons, but worth the cost. This gives XC pilots everything to plan and fly a route.
I have no experience of using another device other than an audible only vario. This works consistent with my solar vario. The moving map and red lift dots are great. The wind direction is great. And the graph showing the rate of lift and sink are great. Also that it does not start recording until you launch and stops when you land all automatically. And to be able to replay your whole flight and send or share the flight file makes this a great app. Thank you very much.
Been using it all last season w an ipico vario and it has replaced all my instruments. Now I only have my phone in my flight deck and love it. The customizability of the screens is GREAT. You will need an external battery but they are cheap and still way less than a dedicated instrument. The waypoint and task setup could use refinement but they work and I've used it in our local comps many times. I'd pay more if it meant faster development but as is its insanely cheap for what you get when you compare to dedicated instruments.
Easy to use and loads of data logging for flight track junkies. Easy to use interface makes it effortless for you to control app. Developer is very involved and always available for emails. Great product!
So happy to see this development happening! Clearly, this is a work in progress but it's pretty remarkable. I'm still learning the ins and outs, but loving this app so far. The Google overlay is incredible. Worth every penny...especially when you consider the cost of an equivalent flight instrument. Keep it up. I can't wait to see where this goes!!
One major drawback (for USA pilots) is the inability to switch to feet and miles instead of meters. Also, to be able to manually stop and start and pause recording would be nice. Being able to resize graphs and zoom out and scroll the map would be nice too. But overall, very nice and useful app.
Cannot get it to start... I'm using an iPhone 4 on OS 4.3.3 Hope it will work somehow...? Or do I need OS 5 for this? It is not marketed as so like other apps that do the same stuff.
